Kenozerochka

This song is dedicated to the women of Kenozero, who have lived all their lives by their native lake, were engaged in farming there, created their own families, and were happy.

Kenozero is my homeland,
I was born here and grew up,
At the darling little lake,
Here I became happy.

I was not afraid of work,
Haymaking, mushrooms and berries,
Stocked up for the winter,
For myself and for the cattle.

At the Christmas party,
I met a handsome guy,
White hair is curly,
The eyes are smiling blue.

Since then, dates have been frequent,
And walking in the dark at night,
And when the bird cherry blossomed,
We had a modest wedding.

The house was built rather bid,
And we have five kids,
Three good-hearted sons,
And two daughters, my beauties.

I was not looking for another fate,
I made the right choice, –
Live by the lake with my family,
And I wish all of us many good days.

Kenozerka-Kenozerochka,
I grew up by the little lake,
I washed my face early in the morning
I admired the beauty.

I still live by the lake,
Darling and dear to me,
I tell everyone from the bottom of my heart,
That I am the happiest.
